Week 12 has come and gone and we spent it celebrating in Washington and Oregon State. I thought going on a vacation while being pregnant this early would not be to daunting, but I was wrong. We did way too many hikes and drove to many towns along the way. I still believed I had the same energy I did before I was pregnant. I found myself walking slower and getting tired faster than usual. Thankfully, Bill was okay with the 2-3 mile hikes we did that were not to strenuous, but I knew he was upset sometimes when I would be falling asleep in the afternoon car rides. Sorry Sweetie. Many friends have told me that the energy will come back in the second trimester, so I am just waiting for that.
Our trip was absolutely magical. I can't even describe how beautiful and clean the Northwest Pacific region was. Mountains, deserts, prairies, rivers and farms were all around us. It was a dream visiting all the National Parks and seeing all the sights. I wish we had more time, but I was glad to be home.
During our vacation, I gained 5 lbs. Yes, that right. I am packing on the pounds now and baby bump is visible. There is no hiding it now.
Onward to week 13... yes I have made it. I am in my second trimester officially. Wahoo. I had an apt. today with Dr. Judd at Chesapeake Woman's Health. Their team of doctors will be delivering the baby. We got to hear the heartbeat again and I got scheduled for more routine blood-work. We found out that they can do all the diabetes care/ monitoring in addition to all the sonograms... so in other words we don't need to travel to Annapolis anymore for monthly visits. This whole time we could have just went to a high risk Easton OB.
Our gender apt. is now July 27.. I can't wait, then we can get started on the nursery and can finalize our baby names. More names have been added to the list.
The only other symptom that I have noticed is my hair is starting to fall out a lot more. Maybe I am going crazy, but I have strands everywhere. Gross!!! Hopefully I am just imaging it.
