Week 9

Finally the cat is out of the bag.  The families were told last weekend and it was great seeing their reactions.  Let me first begin on how we surprised them with the news.  Bill and I purchased baby books (from Good Will) and we each wrote a message from the baby in the inside cover.  Here is what we wrote:

Baby Brooks Message to Family Members

Bill and I arrived at my grandma's apartment around 11:00 am.  After our arrival, my Mom and Aunt Phylis came with an half hour of each other.  Our plan was to tell them one on one, but that was not going to happen.  Instead, halfway through the lunch, I thought it would be a good time to give my Mom, Grandma and Aunt our belated "Mother Day Gifts".  We handed them the wrapped children's books.  They each opened the books and at first were very confused.    It took my Mom at least 2 minutes to figure out what we were saying.  She said, "I'm not a grandma yet.. Wait, what are you not telling me?.  Then my Aunt Phyllis was just flipping through the pages of her book and didn't even look at the inside cover.  Really!!!!  Aunt Phyllis just stared at me and asked, "Are you pregnant?".  My grandma, in her own little world, figured it out five minutes later.  There was tons of crying and excitement.   We then handed each of them their own copy of the 8 week sonogram.

Here is my Aunt, Mom and Grammy with their baby books:

Now that the families know, I can start telling more people.  Yay, the secret is out.  I have also started to tell more of my co-workers too.  Right now, it is a need to know basis.

The baby is a size of a grape and about an inch long.  It even is starting to get teeth.
