WE ARE HAVING A BOY!!!!!
Bill and I are so excited. The ultrasound took longer than I expected. We had to wait 15 minutes after our scheduuled appointment time, then we got brought back into the ultrasound room. The technician was so nice and she measured all sorts of body parts this time.. we got to see the femur (leg), spine (vertebre), cereberial hemispheres of the brain, rib cage, bladder, feet, hands, umbilical cord and of course the imfamous sex organs.
I was so happy. TEAM BLUE had won. Even the woman tech was surprised that my Chinese calendar was wrong. She said some doctors believe in it too which I thought was pretty funny. We got to see our OB afterwords and I swear he seemed like he was high. Next time, we are seeing a different doctor.
The baby is growing normally and weighs only 7 ounces and the size of an onion.
With that being said, I have gained 8lbs and 1/10 is from the baby. Thank god for my maternity pants. They are the only thing I fit into as of now. Here is a pic of me at Week 16:
Bill and I can now sleep more soundly knowing that we are having a boy. First, we have a definite name picked out (and no you will not find out until baby is born). Second, I personally think boys are easier to raise. Third, I would love for him to take on the protective brother role if the next child is a girl. Fourth, I think I have the perfect nursery theme in mind now.
Here is baby Brooks at Week 17:
Congrats to all who guessed correctly. You win.... NOTHING!!! Thanks for playing.
