Week 33

On the weekend, Bill and I went to the Salisbury mall and took maternity photos.  We had such a fun time with our photographer.  We were told to bring different outfits and props.   I love each and every photo we took.  We posted some on Facebook, but my loyal blog followers will get to see some more.  Check out the maternity photo tab.  There are some really gorgeous photos with the baby's name spelled out with block letters.. but that will not be posted until he is born (sorry but you can keep guessing).

I got the best surprise on Tuesday.  I thought it was a normal day.  I had three studies and like usual I was running around like crazy.  I got a phone call at 11:55 from our HR rep Darryl, asking me to come meet him before he goes to lunch to discuss baby insurance stuff.  I figured it was legit.  I grabbed my purse and jacket (usually I leave for lunch and go home) and ran to the warehouse to meet him.  I looked for Darryl and was told we was in the conference room.  When I opened the door, I saw Allison grinning with her camera phone and everyone yelled surprise.  I didn't even see Bill until two minutes later.  I was completely shocked and surprised.  Allison, with help from Matt and Jess,  have been planning the surprise shower for the last two months.  I never even caught on to the plan.

There was sooooooooooo much food there.  The whole conference room was covered with displays of subs, chips, meatballs, desserts, appetizers, and more entrees'.  The room was even decorated in an ocean  theme.   My co-worker Sue S. made a ocean themed cake with fish cookies around it. I was craving this cake for the next two days and I ate six cookies later that night (DON'T JUDGE!!!).

In addition to the food,  was a mound of baby gifts.  Allison collected money from most of the employees and went with Jess to Babes R US earlier last week.  They cleaned out our registry.  Our baby is one lucky kid.  It was truly a wonderful day and I felt so grateful to have such amazing friends at work.

This brings us to today.  I had my doctor apt and another ultrasound.  The baby again is right on schedule and he is turned downward.  YES!!!   He is preparing for his final decent down my pelvic bones.  Hopefully Baby Brooks stays that way b/c I do not want a C-section unless it is medically necessary,    He has been kicking away and I can now feel his feet on my right side.  I literally can feel feet.  It is very surreal.   The baby is almost 5 pounds and I have officially gained 30 pounds.  WOAHHHHH!!!

Due to Thanksgiving holiday next week, the OB is closed on Fridays.  The only appointment. I could get was on Tuesday.  So I will be back in 4 days to do the stress test.  Bill and I also have a safety class this weekend which should be interesting.
