Week 36

The car seats have been inspected.  Wahoo.  Our local Police Department had a certified car seat inspector there, who is also a police officer, look over our two car seats.  Both were correct, but we had to take them out and she showed us all the options for when the baby grows out of the infant settings.  It was very informative.  Now he is ready to be driven home.

I also had my first set of braxton-hicks contractions on Monday.  I was working and started to fell super nauseated.  I had this horrible lower back pain and felt these sharp pains on my left side.  This happened for 4 hours and I became super pale the whole morning.  It wasn't until after lunch when I had a chance to rest that I felt better.  I wasn't positive they were contractions because I never had them before.  Today I had some more at work and later at my doctor appointment.

Now, lets get to the doctor appointment.  After all my begging, pleading, and listing all the horrible pregnancy symptoms I have this last month,  the doctor still would not budge.  The earliest he would go was December 24th.  Again, that is a horrible date.  His reasoning is that the baby's lungs are not fully developed at this time.  There is a 3% chance that at 38 weeks that the lungs will not be fully developed and at 39 weeks that probability is lowered to 1% chance.  Either way its bullshit and the doc's just wants to cover their butts.

Bill and I are working on ways to induce the baby this week.  Regardless, my maternity leave will start on December 20, 2011.  I won't be able to relax but at least I can rest my feet.
