This week we have had so many ups and downs. Let me start off with Sunday. I started to have contractions and severe lower back pain. I also felt extremely weak with flu-like symptoms and threw up all morning. After debating whether or not to go to the hospital for about 6 hrs, Bill and I decided to go to the hospital.
They monitored the baby and myself and kept me hydrated. However, the contractions were not real (even though 5-6 min apart) and I was not even dilated. I was hoping labor was just around the corner. I was sent home feeling horrible.
The following Monday I had my last day of work. I could barely make it until 1:00 pm before I had to leave. The pain was so severe in my back. I felt like crying every minute I moved. I finished my work and went home to rest. Five days later, I was still having severe back pain and no sleep.
I tried heating pads, Tylenol, ice packs and nothing worked. I even contacted my Aunt's friend Joyce, who is a Midwife, to see what I could do. She recommended Primrose Oil to help dilate my cervix. Hopefully this will jump start the baby into action.
This brings us to Thursday. We got some great news in the morning. Bill passed his PE exam. It was the best news of the week. However, later that afternoon I got some horrible news from one of the OB doctors. They made a mistake and my induction has to be moved to December 29. I was crushed and so pissed. I can't wait another week with all this pain for the baby. I have no energy and I am not even in labor yet.
After calling the doctor's office, nothing was resolved and we felt even more let-down by them. I wish I had better medical care in this town. I had my appointment today at 8:45 am and I could barely walk into the office, let alone sit down for a sonogram or NST. The sonogram went fine, but the baby is getting big now. He is 7 lbs 8 ounces. We meet with Dr. O'Brien and he had no clue the date was moved, but yet seemed stumped on why we were even put on that date. Again, he scheduled that date over a month ago so I was just pissed with his lack luster attitude. He saw I was in pain and told me to go to the hospital for some IV medicine to help my back.
We left the appointment in a hurry and went to the hospital. I was given a strong type of Ibuprofen in hopes that the pain would go away. It worked for 5 minutes, then I was back to feeling uncomfortable. Two hours later, I was prescribed Vicodin and now will be taking this to get some rest until my induction date. I hope it works.
