Now he is sleeping on his stomach (trying to eliminate his flat head spot). When we place him on his tummy, Colby will get up on all fours and rock back and forth, trying to crawl. It is amazing how much he can do now.
For the Fourth of July, Bill, Colby and myself traveled to Ocean City, Maryland. Bill and I go every year for July 4th, but this was our first time at the beach with Colby. He loved it so much. Colby got to touch sand for the first time (and try to eat it) as well as touch the cold water of the Atlantic Ocean. It was a scorching 100 degrees that day so we didn't stay on the beach to long. I gave him a sippy cup of water to drink and he drank alot. I have been introducing him to the sippy cup all week and he finally has figured it out. Yay!!
Over the weekend, Aunt Phyllis and Grandma Rhoda came for a visit. They stayed at the Hyatt Hotel in Cambridge, Maryland (only 20 minutes away). This hotel was amazing. They have three pools, one inside and two outside. One pool even has a water slide and they have several bars/eating areas all around the hotel. This is the only 5 star hotel on the Eastern Shore. We had a blast. Colby got to swim again in a pool.
Colby has really been great eating solid foods. I keep forgetting to get photos of the whole food making process. Right now, he has liked/eaten butternut squash, carrots and sweet potatoes. This week we will be making avocado, apples and bananas as well. Yummy!!
Here is little man at 27 weeks:
