Things I have learned about parenthood over the last month:
Your daily routine no-longer exists
You get really good at using your left hand
You no longer care that the house is a mess
You will have some form of spit up in your hair by the end of the day
You can sleep anywhere, anytime, anyplace-- even sitting up.
Showering is a luxury you took for granted
You look on Google at least once a day for answers to your baby questions
Breastfeeding, no longer for how long, is one of the most difficult things a mother can experience
You read all these books and still don't know anything about parenthood
This is all you will do-- feed, burp, change diapers --- REPEAT
Hoping the next month this list will change and I will feel like a human again. Over the weekend, Bill, Colby and I ventured to the Salisbury to get newborn photos. It took us about 5 hrs to get ready to go to the mall. Colby was great during the whole time.
He even had his eyes open for most of the photos. I even had a chance to breastfed in public. At firs it was awkward because they had no place to do it, but we found a quiet spot near JC Penny. I felt weird at first, but I had a cover so no one saw anything.
Colby and I have been trying to get out more. I have taken him to Target and Jo Anne Fabrics by myself. He seems to enjoy the car rides and the stroller. Bill and I still have not gone out to eat with him yet (besides the Mall Food court) so hopefully we can try that soon.
Here is the little fellow at 4 weeks:
