WEEK 11

Colby had a very exciting week.  On the weekend, he went to his friend Abby's 2nd birthday party.  Colby couldn't interact much with the kiddos, but he did giggle and smile alot.  Then of course when the party got started he feel asleep.

On Monday and Tuesday, Great Grandma Rhoda  (aka Bubby) and Aunt Phyllis came to see the little man.  They showered him with so much love and brought him some toys and clothes.  Colby got a dump truck and a drag around Gunn Bear.  Bubby and Phyllis gave him tons of hugs and kisses.  Colby had a good time playing with them.

The rest of the week we spent reading and doing more tummy time.  Colby is lifting his head higher and higher everyday.  He is starting to turn his head and keep it steady for about 10 seconds.  I have also been giving him several toys to reach out for.  Finally as of yesterday, he grabbed a toy on his own and played with it.

We did have some problems this week that worried me for daycare.  He refused a bottle and after thirty minutes of crying I had to give him a boob.  All I could think, "I hope this doesn't happen for Vera at daycare."  Bill and I realized that we have been slacking on the bottle front and need to be more consistent.  Otherwise, daycare will not work.  On Tuesday, we started giving him two bottles a day of breast milk.  At first, he refused it again but then he warmed up to it.  I think having the bottle really warmed help too.  Now he is ready for daycare.  However, I am not ready for him to go.  Colby starts on Monday.

On Friday, Grandma Marsha came to babysit.  Bill and I had our first real adventure away from Colby.  Originally we were going to stay the night in Annapolis and party with his co-workers.  However, after the whole bottle situation we didn't feel it was right to leave Marsha for 12 hrs with a him.  Instead, we left for six hours (the longest amount of time so far).  I got to drink my first drink in two years so I was a happy camper. Colby was excellent for Marsha.  The next day we all went to Kent Island and took a stroll by the Bay.

Here is Goomba at 11 weeks:
