Over the weekend, I went on a hunt for new clothes. Okay I have to admit, I am still wearing my maternity pants and some shirts (they are way too comfy). Mainly because my tummy is still loose with an extra 10lbs and all my shirts are too small because my boobs went from a 34B to a 38C. Damn!!! I need clothes. We went to the mall with the munchkin and he enjoyed every second of it being pushed in the stroller. However, after trying on many different types of jeans and sizes I bought nothing and felt more depressed. The next day Bill and I joined the family membership at the YMCA and I got started working out again. With the family membership, we can drop Colby off certain times of the day for 90 minutes and I can work out downstairs. It is so wonderful and gives me time for myself. I am hoping by the time I go back to work I can lose at least 5lbs. I have no work clothes (another weekend to tackle this).
Many people have been wondering what happened to the clothes diapers and if I been using them... well up until week 8 the answer was no. Why? We wanted to wait until we had time to install the diaper sprayer and his poops were more consistent. That time has arrived. We starting using them 4 days ago and within the first 5 hrs, three diapers leaked and I felt like a failure. With some tightening and using a thicker insert, we solved the problem and Colby is a much happier baby. He has been sleeping longer with the diapers (5-6 hr stretches nightly) and another plus.. no diaper rash at all. I love these diapers. They get a little messy when you have to spray them in the toilet, but if you are not afraid or grossed out by poop then no worries. So far cloth diapering is a success.
Here is the honey badger at 9 weeks:
